Coffee is an excellent liver cleansing herb.  This is why many herbalist promote coffee enemas. Besides being a kick to start the day, or to jumpstart the metabolism, the coffee bean detoxifies the liver, releases bile into the intestinal tract, causing the bowels to move.

Commercially grown coffee utilizes 2-3 thousand pounds of fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides per year per acre. That is an awful lot of toxic chemicals. This is one of the primary reasons why coffee is bad, due to the pesticides on non-organic coffee.  Then there is the other problem - that coffee is highly acidic.

Organically grown coffee right off the bat is missing toxic agricultural chemicals, so it really makes a big difference when you insist on organic coffee.  Due to the growing demand, many grocery stores and coffee shops are carrying organic coffee.  So you can eliminate the first problem by buying organic coffee.

Let’s talk about the second problem – coffee’s acidic pH.  The pH scale runs from 0 to 14.  7 pH is an arbitrary mid-point showing neutral pH. Anything that has a pH below 7 is acid and anything that is above 7 is alkaline.

Coffee can have a pH of 5.2 to 6.9.  It depends on the type of coffee and where the beans came from. Soils from different regions have different pH levels. Of course, how the coffee is grown is a big factor, whether or not it’s grown with petrochemical fertilizer or organic materials.

So what is the solution to coffee’s acidity so one can capture its liver cleansing and metabolism qualities? When coffee is brewed with alkaline water, it rises on the pH scale to become neutral.  Once it is neutral, the body can utilize the health benefits it has, providing one not consume excessive amounts.

The solution to better coffee is to own and make your own alkaline water preferably from a batch type alkalizer that will provide you with a high negative charge and a high pH as well.  The combination of these two factors will make coffee into a healthy herbal drink… providing that you don’t consume more than two cups of coffee per day.

Batch Water Ionizer

Real Alkaline water made from batch type alkaline water machines reduce the water molecule by 50% in size. The smaller water molecules have greater ability to penetrate the coffee bean to extract more flavor and since the water is also significantly softer, it makes the coffee taste smoother, stronger, with more flavor.  When you brew your organic coffee with alkaline water (from a batch type machine), you will notice immediately the awesome aroma. So enjoy your coffee by enhancing the beneficial qualities with alkaline water.  Call me for more information at (727) 447-2344.

Experts now generally agree that there is no consistent scientific evidence to prove coffee is detrimental to your health ... A recent study at the University of California at Davis even suggests that coffee may be good for you ... freshly brewed coffee contains antioxidant compounds that may carry as much power as vitamins C and E.
